Wild Aces
The Wild Aces are part of a new professional football league called Fan Controlled Football. The FCF is built with the idea of having the fans in control like a live action version of the Madden video games.
My introduction into the FCF was through Greg Miller from Kinda Funny (an online source for video game news, movie reviews, and other nerdy original content), that they were going to be an owner of a professional football team that aligned with their philosophy of doing it in partner with their community.
This presented the opportunity to enter the contest to design the official logo for the team which would be featured on the uniforms and highlighted as the designer. Once the team name was selected as the Wild Aces, I knew exactly the direction I wanted to take with the design and this was to pay homage to the man behind the name inspiration, Johnny Ace, the brash alter ego of Kinda Funny co-founder Nick Scarpino.
This was an incredibly fun project to work on and I was completely shocked that my design was selected and won the design contest and this will forever be a huge feather in my cap as an accomplishment to my work that I now have designed a logo for a professional football team.
